My response to zillionandnine's prompt. It's not really a poem but not really prose either, I just wrote down all the words that came in to my head.

I tried to hit the mark but it looks like I missed. I'm not even allowed to fly a plane with my eyesight like this. and it's such a mind trip...look at everything else that I've come to be green with envy over. strawberry clouds plucked from my memory. let's be careful not to hit those trees, we're way too low and the clouds down here are all black - there are so many stupid things that I could say about that, but I won't. the sunset is littered with dust in the skies from a tragic wreck and you look so right there in the nighttime that I think you belong there. just tell me that I would still look pretty standing next to you, black eyes and black hair. I'm trying to make this so much harder than it really is and you are sounding so much more tragic than you are. it would have been so easy to finish this instead with a crashing car.

Am I the only one who doesn't write poems? [Feb. 24th, 2004|01:51 pm]

Yeah, so everyone's done poems and I... suck at those. So I wrote a little paragraph.

Sometimes I wish I’d never met you. “Cat and mouse,” I think that’s what they call this game, only it’s more like I’m the cat and the mouse, because I’m trying to catch you and when I get close I just run or I choke, or I trip or... or something. There were those times I felt like a bird, like everything was clear because I was so high up that the trees were just one giant green mass and the rivers were like snakes or maybe veins but something like that. When I was up there I could see everything I needed to see, everything I recognized in life, and it would just be grouped all together like that, dumbed down or something. I got closer though and it was scary, cause I’d try to change altitude and the wind would blow my feathers wrong and I’d feel like I was falling, and everything got more detailed. The trees were separate from one another and had leaves and the light reflected off the veiny rivers and blinded me, and the world wasn’t something I could conquer anymore. That’s how it ended and that’s how it’s been ever since. Yeah, sometimes I really wish I’d never met you.

I just joined... Rach (rach_inabox) said I should. So... for zillionandnine's prompt...

"Delta two, Delta two, Bravo six
Anyone there? Over," I cry.
The air swarms with conflicts.
But no voice rings out in reply.

Operation Sideshow
Classified chaos
Freedom assassin

Through this espionage
trapped between life and death.
I am alone, trapped in this inferno.
Where freedom is fought for with rage.
Where it becomes hard to breathe.
Where the action is filled with fear now.

Fear is like being alone.
Alone, as if your greatest treasure
Has been taken.
In this danger zone
Nothing is for pleasure.
Company and love is forsaken.

Operation Sideshow
Classified chaos
Freedom assassin

So long ago
An empty ghost
Haunting me
Asked "is it hard?
To take a life?"

It has eaten away all that I am.
All that I ever will be,
And all that I was.
Lost in the darkness I am.

Operation Sideshow
Classified chaos
Freedom assassin

I am alone.

here is my response to zillionandnine's prompt! thanks for doing one tay. <3

We look like satire, I know,
All these little highways on our arms,
And ever since I started smoking
I’ve been spitting up my insides,
Saturated, hyperbolized avec apathy.
Jaded won’t afflict those who never had naïve,
Because pavement is asphalt is concrete in reality
As this generation cynical,
You can’t be a kamikaze when this isn’t world war two,
But if you want a lovely way to die
I’ll race you to the catacombs,
Where under Parisian heels like ashes and ashes,
We’ll all fall down.

this is a writing community.

"a writing community you say?"

yes, that's right, a writing community. because they are fun! and all that. but this one isn't just for posting your writing and that, there are already communities for that. (a really good one is she_writes, so check it out)

this one works in a different way, it is sort of like a fic challenge type of community except it's for... just writing in general. not fanfiction. i mean, we all love fanfiction, but there are places for that too.

this is how it works:

1. somebody will post a prompt. it can be one word, it can be a sentence, it can be something to include. the possibilities are endless.

(***note: if the prompt is a line from a song or something already written, you cannot use the exact thing in your writing, because... well that's stealing. you understand)

(**it's completly okay if there is more than one prompt floating around, in fact the more the merrier.)

2. people will then post what they wrote after getting the prompt, it can be anything except fanfiction, everything else if fine: poetry, a short story, a vignette. hell, even a novel is fine.

(***if you join, you dont have to post prompts or writings, that's cool if you just want to be a member and everything BUT, do not make worthless posts that clutter up the community. or ill kick your ass.)

okay, so really that's it. these are the types of posts allowed and how they should be formatted:

1. prompt posts. just be sure to say that you are posting a prompt.

2. response to prompt post. be sure to say whose prompt you are answering and be sure to lj-cut if it is nessesary.

3. questions about things.

(**also, don't make a post just for praise to someone, that's really sweet and everything but you can just comment on their writing, it keeps the community less cluttered)

that's it! so join, cause everyone is allowed to, and start making prompts and responding to them!

p.s. yea, 'blinking eights' is from a dashboard confessional song, you can go cry about it now
